Edilma Serna joined WestEd in January 2002 as an Infant/Toddler Specialist Coordinator/Mentor in Los Angeles. Actively involved providing PITC bilingual training for Center Based and Family Child Care Programs serving children from birth to three years old. Her past experience includes working in the Early Childhood Field as teacher and assistant director in her native country México since 1981. Ms. Serna also worked facilitating bilingual children and families in campus-based/laboratory program at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA. Edilma is currently mentoring PITC bilingual and bicultural trainees and Infant/Toddler Specialists in Southern LA. Edilma holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Puebla, México in Educational Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Human Development with specializations in Bicultural Development, College/Teaching, Leadership in Education and Administration & Supervision from Pacific Oaks College.
