Judy Ishiura holds a Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from California State University, Sacramento.
Judy is currently a Infant/Toddler Specialist Coordinator with WestEd's PITC Partners for Quality in Region V- Sacramento area.
Judy has actively worked in the field since 1979, holding a variety of positions such as: Nationally Accredited Family Child Care Provider, Master Teacher, Child Development Director; Mentor Teacher with the California Early Childhood Mentor Program; Adjunct Faculty member at California State University, Sacramento, Sierra College, and Folsom Lake College; Instructor for University Extension, UC Davis; and Regional Facilitator for the Child Development Training Consortium.
Judy currently completed Touchpoints Training and is a member of the Sacramento First 5 Touchpoints Training Team. Based upon 15 years of working directly with children and families and the experiences she has drawn from visiting international programs such as Reggio Italy, Pistoia Italy, and the Loczy/Pikler Institute, Budapest Hunhgary, Judy feels a strong commitment to collaborate with parents and teachers to provide optimal care for young children while away from their home environment.
Judy's goals for the future include providing training and technical assistance to early childhood programs in Northern California, continuing to present workshops at the local, state, and national level, continuing her research to examine the impact that training has on caregivers, and following her heart as she discoveries the glorious experiences of working with caregivers, children, and parents. |
